May 10 (Sat) Blue Ridge Mountain TU Chapter High Country Boil - For details, visit HERE May 17 (Sat) Workday - Betty Creek 9 am, Driving north on US441, turn left into the first driveway past the Betty Creek Bridge as you enter Dillard. Bring loppers, saws, potato rakes, pole pruners, work gloves, waders, water bottle, etc. We will be in the creek clearing low limbs and preparing for the 2008 GA Trout Camp. May 19 (Mon) Annual Spring Family Cookout with Mentoring at Indian Lake with Boy &/or Girl Scout Troops as our guests. Note the change to Monday because this is the weekly meeting night for the Scouts. News from the President......

From the Fly Tying Desk of Jimmy Whiten

Well April has always been a busy month for me and this one is no exception. I mean with the 15th tax deadline, first camping trip of the season, fishing, and of course many of us must work so the older anglers can fish.

If you missed our first camping trip of the season you missed a great one. Weather was great, only a little rain and it started out a little cool but warmed up a little each day. Food was great and all of those secret recipes makes for great eating. Fishing was great! As I was coming off the river back to the truck I was thinking how I would tell them back at the camp how many fish I caught and about the big one that got away (this was a great day for me!) As everyone was enjoying their meal that was prepared by our special Rabunite cooks I could hardly wait to start telling about my day on the river. After listening to how well everyone else did, I decided not to mention my day. Although I did catch a few fish and did let a big one get away, to me my day was not as spectacular as theirs but I bet I enjoyed my day just as much as they enjoyed theirs.

As I left camp Sat. (I had to leave early,) on my drive back home, I was thinking how my trip could have been better and after a few miles I realized it could not be improved.
